in a year...
so much can happen in a year...
... traveling for work, with the flu, with 3 managers
... eating a multi-course dinner at the 7 star hotel, Burg Al Arab in dubai, UAE (to celebrate the conclusion of our successful customer visit)
... seeing the Vatican, the Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps, while sick with the flu (may 05)
... saying 'c ya later' to my closest, bestest co-worker as he transferred to a different facility
... going to a wedding, that was in the making 5 some years ago, at one of the most beautiful places in California, Monterey Bay
... going to Kauai with Wilderness Volunteers to work at the Limahuli National Botanical Gardens to help replant native plants in the preservation (sept 05)
... going around the world because of work (possibly for the last time) Hawaii to Tokyo to Hong Kong to Dubai ... work ... Dubai to London to LA (home sweet home) (sept 05)
... snorkeling in Fujaireh, UAE ... visiting the beauty of the sea underwater near Snoppy Island
... deciding to change jobs, into the unknown, while tagging a 32 mile commute south of home every day
... reuniting with that closest, bestest co-worker - new project, new management, new stakes
... having the best time at home during Christmas break, meeting new people, snowboarding twice in tahoe
... participating in the sierra club's, wilderness travel course, culminating in a snow backpacking camp in Bishop, CA
... 2nd year biking the Acura LA Bike tour
... beginning to play in the volleyball league i never thought i'd play (thanks connie)
... visiting and traveling to Australia, climbing the sydney bridge and diving the great barrier reef
... gas prices from barely 2.40 a gallon to the now 3.37 (if your lucky) a gallon
and yet somehow things stand still.
i say this last part because there are somethings that i just haven't accomplished ... i have reasons, but bottom line, priorities, work seems to be a head of a lot of what I do, church related responsibilties, like the IT work for the church (but now i'm training help, which will help), then there are the personal enjoyment activies, like the taiko group at my church, volleyball and outdoor activities, like hiking, biking, surfing... but bottom line, i have to get the house in order, i have to finish a number of video projects, and i have to take advantage of my disneyland pass... (okay the last one is just in for kicks).
set priorities, milestones and completion goals -- and work to complete them. i know better, and i have to plan better outside of work so i can get the things done that others are counting on me to do.
"get it done." - motto for this month.
